Pretty excited for it...looks to have the keyboard of the 9630 Tour, optical trackpad of the 8520 Curve, size of the 8900 Curve, weight is in between the 8900 and 9630, processor of the Bold 9000, and two version of 3G/UMTS support (AT&T & T-Mobile/CBW).  win!

  1. So my boss (who really wanted a Blackberry storm last year, but got a curve instead because the software bugs are so bad) is now talking about how he really wants a storm 2, because it has a bigger screen. Is it any good?

  2. yes, the Storm 2 is much better than the Storm 1. The piezoelectric technology used for the screen is quite effective for having a screen that actually clicks and presses down. The build is more solid and slightly thinner--though the weight is slightly more. I like the phone and found it usable. However, the productivity potential will always be less on a full touchscreen phone.

The current flagship "high productivity" BlackBerry on Verizon is the 9630 Tour. The screen is physically smaller than the Storm but has the same resolution, 480x360. Current rumors point to a Tour 2 known as the "Essex" which upgrades the trackball to an optical trackpad and adds Wi-Fi. Those seem to be the two main differences and I would say it's worth waiting for--it's essentially the CDMA version of the 9700 featured here. Look for it, possibly around March?

    anyways, CrackBerry's review here: http://crackberry.com/blackberry-storm2-review
